The Yale Glee Club and Kaleidoscope Vocal Ensemble are proud to present the second annual KALEIDOSCOPE VOCAL ACADEMY from July 26th - August 1st, 2026 in New Haven, CT.
Led by director of the Yale Glee Club, Dr. Jeffrey Douma, Yale Camerata director, Dr. Felicia Barber, as well as Artistic Director of Kaleidoscope, Dr. Arianne Abela, twenty-four singers between the ages of 16-18 will be selected from across the country to participate in masterclasses, small and large ensemble rehearsals, private vocal coachings, and chamber music workshops during their one-week stay at Yale.
All students selected to participate will receive a full-tuition scholarship to the Academy, along with free housing and meals on Yale's campus. The week will culminate in a performance with students and Kaleidoscope artists!
The Kaleidoscope Vocal Ensemble celebrates racial, ethnic, and gender diversity in its membership and music-making, and we encourage all singers to apply.

Requirements
Video responses to a few questions on the application form (Feel free to include a Google Drive link, an unlisted YouTube link, a Dropbox link, or any other platform)
Send us links to three videos of you singing, either accompanied or a cappella.
First video singing the choral part to a piece provided by the academy (TBA).
Solo piece:
-You can record a classical solo piece, such as an art song or aria.
-You can record yourself singing your part in a choral excerpt, either a cappella, with piano, or with a recording of the piece in the background.
For your second piece, we welcome solo pieces in any genre, such as musical theater, jazz, folksongs, Indian classical singing, or other traditional forms. You are also welcome to record an additional classical or choral piece.

Following your application, finalists will be asked to interview with Dr. Arianne Abela (or a member of Kaleidoscope Vocal Ensemble) over Zoom.
